Sitters on Deck has some of the most reasonable babysitting rates in all of New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender Counties. We recognize how many Americans are budget-strapped and working harder than ever, so we have set our prices accordingly.

Sitters on Deck realizes that there is nothing more important to a parent or caregiver than finding the right childcare provider and we promise to do everything within our power to keep our rate low.

Sitters on Deck continues to grow by referrals. For each friend you refer to Sitters on Deck who becomes a registered user, you BOTH will receive a free referral. You can save up the referrals to use at your discretion.

We bill on a monthly basis. You will receive an invoice on the first of each month for your previous month’s referrals. You have until the 15^th to pay your invoice or a $20 late fee will be assessed. If you have trouble paying your bill or need an extension, let us know. Sitters on Deck knows things come up, that’s why we’re more than willing to work with you.

Annual Fee

An annual registration fee of $30 is required for the use of the babysitting referral service. This fee helps cover the cost of time and money spent screening sitters and conducting background checks. The annual fee for your second year with Sitters on Deck will decrease to $25.

Referral Fee

The referral fee is $10 each time a sitter is requested and confirmed more than 24 hours in advance of babysitting. This helps cover the cost of the time spent searching for an available sitter and confirming sitters with you.

If you request a sitter within 24 hours of the job, the fee is $15. Short-notice requests are harder to fill, however we don’t discourage last minute requests.

Paying Your Sitter

All of Sitter on Deck’s sitters are independent contractors and are solely employees of the client. You must pay your sitter at the conclusion of babysitting. All rates are negotiated between the family and their sitter. The average rate at this time is $10-12/hour depending on the number of children (this can vary depending on the sitter).

Weekends

Requests made after 6pm on Friday for Saturday or Sunday is considered a 24 hour short-notice request.

Referral Packages

If you think you will need a sitter on a regular basis, consider one of our discounted referral packages to save you money. There is no expiration date on these referrals, as long as you maintain an active account with Sitters on Deck.

Row Boat Package: 4 referrals for $35.
Sail Boat Package: 12 referrals for $100.
Yacht Package: 25 referrals for $200.

Unlimited Referral Package: $30 per month. With this package you may request a sitter as often as you’d like. You must sign up for the year.

Short-notice requests will not be accepted with our packages, as they are harder to fill.

Cancellations

If you cancel within 24 hours (unless it is an emergency) of the babysitting job, you will still be charged for the referral.

Overnight Referrals

Sitters on Deck can provide referrals for overnights and extended stays. An overnight job is considered anything past 12am and is $15.

Out of Town Clients

For those just visiting the Cape Fear Coast, we can accommodate your needs for a babysitter. Registering with Sitters on Deck is $15 and $10 for each referral.

Long-Term Placements

All of our families requesting a long term placement pay a one-time fee depending on the number of days per week they will require the sitter.

• 2 days/week is $80
• 3 days/week is $130
• 4 days/week is $180
• 5 days/week is $230

Holidays

The following days are considered holidays and are $15 for the referral:

• New Year’s Day
• Valentine’s Day
• Easter
• Memorial Day
• Fourth of July
• Labor Day
• Halloween
• Thanksgiving
• Christmas Eve
• Christmas Day
